Tutorial

Getting Started: Create Your First Label

  1. Click the "New Label" button at the top-left of the toolbar to open the label setup dialog.
  2. Choose the display unit (mm or inch), width, height, and printer resolution (203/300/600 DPI, matching your actual printer).
  3. Click "Create" to start editing — the canvas will show the size you just configured.

Adding & Editing Elements

  1. The "Elements" group in the toolbar lists the available element types: text, barcode, line, rectangle, ellipse, and image. Drag an icon onto the canvas to add it.
  2. Select an element on the canvas and the Property Panel on the right shows what can be adjusted: position, size, rotation, text content and font, barcode type and parameters (e.g. wide/narrow ratio), dash style, and more — depending on the element type.
  3. To align multiple elements precisely, select them all and use the alignment controls in the Property Panel (align left/center/right, top/middle/bottom).

Layers, Undo & Clipboard

  1. The "Layers" group in the toolbar reorders the selected element's stacking order: bring to front, bring forward, send backward, send to back.
  2. Use Undo (Ctrl+Z) / Redo (Ctrl+Y) to revert or reapply changes.
  3. The "Clipboard" group provides Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+V), Duplicate (Ctrl+D), and Delete for the selected element(s).

Import Data Source: Apply the Same Data to Many Labels

  1. Click "Import Data Source" in the toolbar and paste or upload CSV data (the first row must be the column headers).
  2. In the Property Panel, set a text or barcode element's content mode to "Field" and pick which column it binds to — the element shows a {{fieldName}} placeholder to indicate the current binding.
  3. After importing, click "Print" to open the batch preview window, where you can page through every row rendered onto the label and adjust which rows/copies to print.

Input Field Mode: Type at Print Time

  1. If a value needs to be typed in manually right before printing each label (e.g. a serial number or lot code), set that element's content mode to "Input Field" in the Property Panel — it will show an {{INPUTn}} placeholder.
  2. When you open the batch preview, you'll be prompted to type each input field's value in order; some fields can have an input mask (e.g. alphanumeric only, fixed length). After entering a value, you can continue on to print the next label.

Preview, Print & Export

  1. The "Print" button opens the batch preview window, where you can page through each label, set the number of copies, and send the job straight to your browser's print dialog.
  2. To save labels as files instead, use the export options to output PDF or PNG images.
  3. "Save" / "Open File" at the top-left of the toolbar let you save the label you're working on as a project file and reopen it later to keep editing.

Advanced: Direct Print Mode (Skip the Print Dialog)

  1. A normal print shows the browser/system print dialog — the operator has to click "Print" for it to actually go out. If the printer is already set as the Windows default and doesn't need to be picked each time, you can set up "Direct Print Mode" so that clicking "Print" in the batch preview sends the job straight to the default printer with no dialog. Both Chrome and Edge (both Chromium-based) support this.
  2. Setup: right-click an empty spot on the desktop → New → Shortcut. In the location field, paste (including the quotes).
    For Chrome: "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk-printing https://rayenapp.com?directPrint=1
    For Edge: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --kiosk-printing https://rayenapp.com?directPrint=1
    Then name it and save.
  3. Before using it, fully quit the browser via Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) — closing windows alone isn't enough, since this flag only takes effect on a brand-new launch. Kill any chrome.exe (or msedge.exe for Edge) processes, then double-click the shortcut to open the site; opening the browser the normal way won't have this effect.
  4. If the page shows a "Direct Print Mode Active" badge, it means this tab was opened via that shortcut — but that's only a hint, not a guarantee. Whether printing actually skips the dialog still depends on your browser version and system settings, so test an actual print once after setting it up.

Switching Display Language

  1. The language dropdown at the top-right of the page switches the display language of this tutorial (and the app). Your choice is remembered and applied automatically next time you open the site.
